About Me

Hello, my name is Sinéad.  From Ireland, I am a Couples Therapist based in Edinburgh City Centre. I am fascinated by the complex dynamics and patterns of relationships.  ctiveness, endurance, longevity, strength.  Looking at what each partner brings through the door to their relationship, their family legacies and exploring how these 'root's feed into their current ways of relating to each other provides us with deep understanding of what's happening now.  Just like the tree,  a relationship has periods of sunshine and warmth, and storms with cold varying in duration and intensity. How couples repair is most important and therein lies the opportunity for growth and development, for change.

I have helped couples to enhance or save their relationship. For couples who didn't know if they wanted to stay together, I have provided a safe and supportive space to explore this further. I have worked with couples who decided to separate and wanted to do so on better terms for themselves or for the sake of their children. I have helped couples work through the pain, despair and trauma caused by emotional disconnection, breakdown in communication and the various forms of betrayal couples encounter, including affairs.

Couples relationships are complex and challenging.  Ensure that you choose an accredited therapist who has specialised in training as a Couples Therapist or Counsellor.

As an accredited member of the BACP - British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
